Hello and welcome to the podcast. I was checking the analytic section AI think it was yesterday on the app and I noticed that we've recently crossed over 4000 subscribers on Spotify. So I'm making today's podcast episode to say thank you because those of you who've been listening to the podcast episodes right from the beginning and those of you who joined the podcast recently are responsible for me hitting this major milestone of 4000
subscribers. Now, there are some of you who reach out to me when you find the podcast and you ask me, you know, what is this exactly? And I think some of the confusion is caused because sometimes I talk about the radio show, but essentially what a podcast is. I like to define a podcast as a radio show that you listen to over the Internet. So in my own mind, I am doing essentially the same thing on two different platforms.
So I go over on the radio currently, which is Radio Maria 91.3 FM, but you're going to find me on other radio stations soon, especially secular radio stations. And yes, I still have plans for ATV show, but that hasn't materialized. I was trying to do that in 2024, but that didn't pull through. So for those of you who find me on YouTube or wherever, and you know, you're wondering what is this? Don't worry about what The thing is called.
Just focus on the value that you're getting from this thing. So yes, it's a podcast in the technical sense, but you can also find me on YouTube. So a podcast is just a show, a radio show that lives on the Internet. Now, for those of you who are new to podcasting, because I am glad that for some of you, you've never come across a podcast before and this is the first time you're coming across the podcast, I just want to let you know what the landscape of podcasting is like in Niger.
Now, most of the Nigerian podcasts that are out there, the really big ones are the gossip podcasts, you know, the Gist podcast and the lifestyle content. So you'll find other things like I said What I said podcast, the Honest Bunch podcast, you know, stuff like that. But it's refreshing to come across people like you who are designing professionals or designing business people and you're looking for business growth. And so you're trying to make room for that on your playlist.
But yeah, just to let you know that you might have found my own podcast, you know, by chance. But most of the podcasts out there, Nigerian podcasts out there are not like, not like this one, which is the reason why you should say subscribe on Spotify, YouTube, Apple or any player of your choice. And also tell other people that this kind of content exists because there are lots of Nigerians who do not know that this content exists, that shows like mine exist.
Now for those of you who are new, because I know one person who discovered yesterday's podcast episode and was really, really impressed. So for those of you who are new here and you've always wondered like, why am I doing this show? Look, it's it's very simple. I've been in business for a while. I'm a former lawyer now turned business consultant. In between, I've done export with my brother and also done wedding photography and video.
Yeah, so I've done a bunch of stuff. But I realized, like most people do, that lots of the podcasts that you find out there, lots of the material that you find out there, whether it's podcasts or webinars or newspapers or whatever. I say newspapers, I mean, what are they called? Newsletters? They talk about sales principles, strategies and tactics. But usually they talk about these things from a very Western perspective, a very North American perspective.
Once in a while you find a good business podcast, you know, from the UK or maybe from Australia, all those those sorts of things. But predominantly, you'll find that lots of podcasts that you can that are out there are talking about things from a North American perspective. Now, there's no problem with that. It's just that we need to find out how these principles, how these strategies, how these tactics apply to the Nigerian context.
And so that's the reason why I started making this this podcast. And then of course, when I make the podcast, I'm not focused about theory because I want to talk about what works in our streets, what works in our markets, what works in our boardrooms, what works in Nigerian networking sessions, what works. I mean, you get the point. So that's the reason why this show exists. So for those of you who have discovered the show recently and were responsible for me going over the 4000 subscriber mark on Spotify, I'd like to say thank you or please say subscribe,
share the show with other people and you will never run out of insights. The reason why I say you will never run out of insights is because I have a library of over 1300 episodes so far. So you could listen to a new business lesson every single day for years, and you're always going to find something fresh to listen to because I'm not stopping anytime soon. I'm going to keep on making these podcast episodes. So whether you're commuting through traffic, you're done with work getting ready to go home, or you're trying to do some work in the house, or you're trying to stay fit in the gym.
Yeah, because I know a couple of you who listen when you're at the gym, there will always be an episode ready for you to help you sharpen your edge. So today's podcast episode is just to say a massive, massive, massive thank you to everyone who has subscribed, every single person who has shared, and everyone who has encouraged me over the years. Those of you who take advantage of the fact that I dropped my phone number at the beginning and at the end of every single episode.
Thank you very much for reaching out to me and telling me what you like about the podcast, what you don't like or what you would like to hear more of. So it's because of people like you that I keep on recording. So thank you very much for helping me hit 4000 subscribers. And now, of course, we are going to aim to hit the next 4000 subscribers.
