I just had a conversation right now with someone else, a another business person, and I just thought, let me come over here and share the experience with you guys real quick, especially since I think it's a tip that some of you might find useful, some of you might find handy. Now I give my phone number at the beginning and at the end of every podcast episode because I like talking with you guys, my audience, not just because the money I define, you know, and I'm hoping to collect money from you guys, but also because I
generally want to know what it is that you guys are interested in, problems that you're facing, things like that. So if I can help one or two people, whether I collect money or not, you know, it's not a problem. That's how life is. You know, we pass value around anyway. So for some of you who have actually been brave enough to reach out to me, whether you ended up in the paid consulting session or not, you will notice that while we are on the call,
as you are talking, I'll be making notes in WhatsApp. So you're talking, talking, talking. And then I'm kind of like summarizing everything you say live on the conversation. And then I just pasted there. I just pasted there. Now, usually I tell people that look, Novix, as you are talking, you'll be hearing ping, ping, ping, ping in your ear. Now that's just me putting up messages. Now, the reason why I'm doing that is because I'm using this WhatsApp messages to take notes because I don't want to forget anything that we say.
Because let's be honest, you know, as a, as a coach and as a consultant, you know, I'm talking to different kinds of people every single day, every single month, every single week. And I need a way to keep track of who have I been talking to? What kinds of conversations have I been having? And if I run things from memory, then you'll be a tragedy. I'll be talking to one person and I'll be using the information of another person to now be advising you.
And of course, that's absolutely terrible. So I've been using WhatsApp messages just to track these sorts of conversations. So, you know, as you did talk, as you did talk, you know how good they summarize? They summarize just they send up, just they send up just like that. And so far nobody has told me, guy, don't do that. I don't like it, but then it got me wondering that am I weird? Am I the only person who does this?
That's I'm using WhatsApp for business conversations. You know, I could summarize everything so that later on, you know, I can read the whole thing from top to bottom and say, oh, OK, now the guy be this, OK, this is what we discussed. OK, now the baby this, OK, this not the issue, that not the issue. Then I'll now advise them accordingly. But then I have a conversation just as in like 5 minutes ago, I called another parent, that's another parent who goes to our kids go to the same school and she's a parenting consultant,
you know, parenting issues, you know, things like that. I didn't know that we have these sorts of professionals in Nigeria, you know, child child psychologist, child psychiatrist, learning experts, you know, stuff like that. So it's good that we now have these kinds of professions like this in Nigeria because, you know, there are a couple of us who grew up rough back in the day, we didn't know that you're facing one or two issue and that there are people that can help.
So now I'm glad. It's nice to see that the consultants, you know, who work with that kind of thing, you know, so like your kids are bed wetting. You know, there's somebody they can't talk to to figure out what's the issue or your picking or they see. Well, you know, or like you think your kid is dumb, but meanwhile, you know, the guy know they see. And that's the one that happened to my son. I mean, he's a sharp kid, but,
you know, it wasn't the right thing. Was not really. And then one or two things. Turns out that my kid just couldn't see pretty well. So getting glasses, moving to the front of the class, then voila, problem solved overnight. And in fact, I remember that I went to school one of those kids like that. I can't remember the guy's name, but honestly, we thought it was a dance. Excuse my French, but you know, that's happy. We used to talk back in those days.
We thought the guy was a dance, but I meanwhile, the guy came back with glasses. And then, yeah, the guys in on top of the class. So some people in my school started saying that when you wear glasses, you know, it makes you smart. Anyway, So bottom line, I'm just saying is that we now have specialists that in Nigeria that do these sorts of things. You know, does your child have a learning disability, developmental issues, milestones and psychological issues, blah,
blah, blah. So people are there like that. And anyway, so our kids go to the same school now and she's been trying to use content marketing to promote her business. And we've been having chats, you know, on and off because she knows that I'm a business consultant. She knows that I I podcast, you know, things like that. So we've been chatting. So I was calling her with specific advice about how she can improve her podcast.
So I called and as we're talking, I'll say, no, don't like this, No, don't like this, don't like this, don't like this. Then by the time we finished the corner I just caught and I saw in my inbox and also a text message that's it what's up? And I opened it. I was like, it's from her and every single thing as I was saying it now show the baby type. She did type. She did type, she did type. She finished and then she sent.
So next thing I picked I said I said, Madam, thank you very much for letting me know I'm not a weirdo. So now she laughed. She said weirdo how? I said I looked at me, this is what I do, and I've been wondering like am I am I weird? She said no, that she too, she does it and she knows a few people who do it that and have people that do it. They call it second brain. It's like, oh fantastic. It's a perfect concept. And that's what I want to share with you guys today.
Second brain. We need to look for a repository to start putting customer information down somewhere. And that's one of the reasons why, you know, I advocate for people to use WhatsApp for business also because it's a conversational channel. And that's why I tell people that looks stop turning on this delete message something all these auto delete after seven days or no. If the message delete after 7 days and then you have to refer,
you need to talk to the person in 21 days, how will you remember exactly what it is that you spoke now, God forbid that quarry has entered the matter. The person is saying you promised me this, you promised me this. I say no, I no promise you like this. I no promise you like that. How you remember you said the auto timer 7 days, the thing should delete quarry and now come in 28 days waiting will happen now. So WhatsApp should be a repository.
I mean, minus this whole second brain thing. WhatsApp should actually be a repository, a good source of customer information, customer data, things like that. So the transaction is there. How did you meet this person? How did the conversation start? You know, how many times has a person bought from you? Are there any issues? How did this thing escalate? How did you move from here to here, from there to there, everything there.
So please turn off your disappearing messages on WhatsApp. And I hope you've been taking my advice about using WhatsApp sort of like, you know, a warehouse where you're keeping customer data and customer information. It is a rich source of data. In fact, I recommend to people that if you have to call somebody, whether on a routine phone call or whatever, go straight to your WhatsApp messages or go straight to your SMS scheme, just scheme through the message.
It's not if you have to read anything but just you know, scroll through just, you know, scheme, you just give you a refresh like oh OK, now this Madam, now this Madam, now that blah blah blah. You remember one or two things like oh OK, her son Shinidu was sick 2 days ago and then by the time you buzzer, oh Madam, how you doing, blah blah blah. I hope Chinido is feeling better now. You see Nara, Paul, you they build but that's because you are chatting with Madam and sometime in the past she mentioned that Shinidu was ill.
So we should all be doing that. But then for those of you who are willing to be weird or willing to be brave, now this is me not talking as a sales coach, not as a sales coach and as a business development consultant, me telling you to do this one. And I just personal idea. I did tell you, it's not as if you know, because when I'm here on the podcast, I like to speak from a stage of authority. I like to speak from a stage of what I know.
So I must confess that now I'm going past what I know, I'm now advocating some weird stuff. So you can also use WhatsApp like a second brain. I've been doing it and so far no client has complained. And I found out that I'm not the only one. So when people over the call with me because, you know, I don't get secretary now. And of course now see if you can record the phone conversation. So when somebody's saying, oh, this is how I started the business is how I did, this is how I did, this is how the problem started.
Like this, like this, like this. If I'm just listening and say like, I'll forget if I'm writing it down in a diary, there's no how I can transfer the data in the diary to like any other place I can refer to it later, except if I type it out in the CRM. And to be honest, to be typing everything out in CRM, sometimes man, now walk. So at least if the person is talking, talking, talking, and then you're just typing it out.
So let's say you're a fashion designer and the person is saying, oh, I want the peplum. My sister is getting married or so, so, so, so did. So in the WhatsApp you just allow Oh, Madam Abed Novak, as you're talking, I'm going to be making some notes in WhatsApp. I just don't want to forget. And then she was. No, no problem. Because quite frankly, I take the permission. Nobody has told me no. And for those of you who have reached out to me, we've had a couple of conversations.
Of course, you obviously didn't tell me no and I've seen other people do it so, but I won't mind. So you should be putting a short, short in WhatsApp. OK. Peplum sisters wedding June 29th, then you put our measurements 281645 then you know every every every you just be putting it there like that, you know, short, short, short, short, short, short, short, short. When the conversation ends, you just click send. And then I always like to act the message again and say, Oh,
Madam Novak, just like I told you, ignore this message. I'm just putting this one here for my own records just so I remember exactly every single thing we spoke, we spoke about so far, nobody has said no. And anyway, so I've spoken to this parent from my son's school and she calls it second brain. So her and her friends, that's what they do. And yeah, that's it. I just, I guess I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm not weird.
So when I ask you to, when I say I beg Novix, as you're talking, I'm just dropping some things in WhatsApp here as summary. Honestly speaking, it's just so I do not forget. I want to remember you. I want to give you the best service possible. I want to give you the best advice possible, and it has to be contextual to you and your unique needs. That's the reason why when we're talking, I'll be dropping some things in WhatsApp and then for some of you where we're going to need to have longer sessions, if I ask for your permission to record something, it's precisely so that from the recording I can make a transcript.
And then the transcript is just going to form part of the data that I have about you. It's just to make sure that I have all the circumstances, all the contacts, all the information about you, so I can give you better advice in the future. That's why, well, I forgot. If you'd love to connect with me, you can call me, send me a text message or a WhatsApp message on 08064662140. If you want to reach out but you're not brave enough for now to say what's up or to ask a question, that's not a problem.
Just send me a text message on the same number, 08064662140, and then I'll hook you up to my WhatsApp channel. Then you'll see updates there. Then whenever you're ready for us to talk, you can reach out and then we have a conversation. Then let's see what else. Oh yeah, if you're interested in a 15 minute sale audit, just reach out to me, same number, and we will make that happen. But yeah, that's my advice for the day.
Basically, she called it Second Brain. And the idea behind the second brain is like you're trying to create some sort of repository somewhere so that accesses all your data so that you don't have to remember every single conceivable thing that you've you've spoken about when you've had a conversation with someone. So, but data brain aside, please, you're listening to this podcast, especially if you're listening to this podcast for the first time and you're a business person and you have disappearing messages turned on on WhatsApp.
What the hell are you doing? Turn that thing off. No, for real. Seriously, turn that thing off. If you're an architect, you talk with somebody, whistle getting be people are chatting back and forth. Whistle doing be is telling you things about the building that she wants about her hearts, her desires, her dreams and her everything she they type out for WhatsApp or she sends you voice note. But then you turned on disappearing message after several days.
Then the time comes to now design the project in let's say in six weeks time and all trying to remember what the missile getting they say what the missile getting they say. You now want to have to start calling her back to start the story afresh. For real though, some of you Nigerian business people, I don't know, it really amazes me. I'm like the first thing I will see when you slide into my DM and I'm trying to respond, I'll see disappearing messages turned on.
I was like I honestly don't know how you Nigerian business people do things with this disappearing message. Then when you ask them whether they have CRMCRM, they don't get, OK, you're talking to customers you don't have a CRMCRM is a customer relationship management tool. At least if you have ACRM, you can be typing in all those notes and all that data and all the information that you're getting from clients. So CRM, you don't get WhatsApp now, you're now turning on disappear message.
Some of you won't even put disappear message delete after 90 days. You now come and set 7 days. Come on, be real here. WhatsApp is a veritable business tool and let's try and use it the best way we can so we can guess what that sweet money. Yeah. So that's it. That's all I came to share here today. So thanks for your time and attention. I catch you some other time. And remember, if you'd love to connect with me, just call, send me a text message or a WhatsApp message on 08064662140.
If you want to be a part of the WhatsApp channel, same number. Just WhatsApp me and we'll hook it up. So enjoy the rest of your day.
