Hello and welcome to the show. It's available on YouTube, Apple Podcast and Spotify. I'm your host, Tavishima Aidi. Today's going to be a noisy episode because I'm not in the audio booth, so expect to hear some interruptions. If you'd love to connect and explore opportunities with me, then call me on 08064662140 or what's happened me on the same number. The country code is +234 for those of you who are not Nigerian. And then for social media,
connect with me on LinkedIn. Today, we're going to continue the conversation that we started 2 days ago on how to hire a female salesperson, customer service Rep, front desk officer, Pata or whatever. If you remember correctly, the As for those of you who listened to the last episode, my thesis was that for these roles that are largely to do with problem solving and helping customers achieve their vision. You know, whether you are you have good feminine or a good feminine energy, primal sex appeal or charm or things like that, you know, might be good in other kinds of contexts.
But when it comes to these kind of contexts for problem solving and for helping customers achieve their vision, these sorts of things are not useful for helping customers solve challenges. So that was the last, that was the thesis of the last episode. And then today we're going to look at the case study using specific business context just to try and flesh out the idea about how if you want to have female sales team or you're a lady in a commercial, you know,
in the business context, you shouldn't get too hung up over, you know, whether your feminine Ora is on point, whether your feminine energy is on point, whether you have charm, whether you have sex appeal and all these other things. Now, these things are good in different contexts. But like I said, what we're talking about is a salesperson role, a customer service Rep, a front desk person, ATA or PA. These people are largely problem solvers or helping people achieve a vision or overcome overcome a problem.
So in this sense, all those sorts of things don't matter. And if you're wondering why I'm even tackling this kind of question, if you listen to yesterday's episode, you get caught up to speed. It's basically just because I was asked that kind of question from someone who was in the HR space and was anxious about hiring a capable female salesperson and customer service reps for clients that she had. And of course, she was wondering if feminine aura is a part of the equation, whether feminine energy is something we should be paying attention to, whether primal sex appeal can help people sell.
To be fair, the lady didn't ask about primal sex appeal. It's just that from the way that she couched the question, this is the best way that I can term it primer sex appeal. And then what? That charm was going to be useful in hiring people for our clients who have these all I say I can't call this a skill set qualities, yes, who have these qualities of feminine aura, feminine charm, feminine energy, sex appeal and what have you.
So before we get into the discussions for today, the I'm behind on shout out. So let me give this is 1234. I think it's like 3 or 4 shout outs today. So let's head straight into that. So First off, I'd like to shout Kamso who got the podcast on Spotify and reached out to me on WhatsApp. He's into real estate and he mostly handles investment properties. For those of you who would love to check him out, the Instagram is kamso.
Homes together as one word, Kamso is KAMSO, and then the Facebook is Camso Homes, but you know, 2 separate words. So Camso, one word, homes, one word. So shout out to Camso. Thank you very much for listening to the podcast. I'm glad that you're deriving value out from this. Remember to share it with people if you think this is a valuable resource. You know other people in your real estate community, if they can get some value from this.
Then next, I'd like to shout out Coach Uwa. That is UWA, who also reached out to me on WhatsApp. I can't remember if she got the podcast, if she came across the podcast on YouTube or Spotify. And she's a business coach. She's also a finance coach. And people like that are sorely needed in the business journey because you have individuals like me who are there to say, this is how you can increase your sales. But then you also need people that are going to let you know,
you know, the best ways to spend the money or the best way to manage cash flows or, you know, those sorts of things. Because even though these things are important, those are not the kind of things that we talk about over here on the podcast. So Coach OA, shout out to you. Thank you very much for listening to the show. Remember to share the show with your, what do you call them colleagues with your colleagues in similar space, you know, if they're able to learn a bunch of things over here to improve their businesses.
And then of course, share podcast episodes to your clients as well, if there's any particular topic that might help with the challenges that you're working on. Then next, I'm going to shout out Ezra. I hope I'm pronouncing your name correctly. I just assumed you're a DOMA. I should have asked. I just assumed you're a DOMA. So he is a sales force Rep. The sales, sales force solutions for businesses. Sales Force is just a CRM that I
have made reference to time and time again over here on the show. CRM is just customer relationship management tool or client relationship management tool. Basically it's just that piece of software or that tool or that technology or whatever it is that you use in your business that tells you how many people you're supposed to be talking to, what stage of the relationship are you at? What do you have to do to close the deal?
What are the important things that you need to schedule or make notifications for? You know, all these sorts of things. And then I think Salesforce is one of those CRM solutions that has advanced marketing capabilities. It's mostly an enterprise thing. When we say enterprise thing, we just mean, you know, big business. So people who are at the level of, you know, one or two employees, you definitely don't need to be considering Salesforce.
But you know, all these big, big organizations, them, you know, like Zenith Bank, Excess Bank, you know, OK, well, those are banks, so they might not need Salesforce. But I'm saying organizations of that size, most likely we need to implement these kind of CRM solutions. Oh, by the way, Ezra, if I'm wrong with what it is that I've just said, you know, since we're chatting on WhatsApp already anyway, just send me a WhatsApp message and, you know, educate me about the kind of people that Salesforce solutions, Salesforce CRMS would be good for.
Then the last person I'm going to shout out is Suleiman Giri Gisu. I know I definitely pronounced that one wrong. So Suleiman Girgis who reached out to me on LinkedIn also loves the show. He's in tech enthusiast and a budding entrepreneur. He's based out of Ilorian choir state. So thank you very much everyone for listening to the show. I know I'm behind on the shout outs. If we've been chatting back and forth, if you reached out to me on WhatsApp, on LinkedIn, you haven't heard the shout out, you know, just drop me a quick message.
You know, sometimes I lose track of some of these things and then I'll shout you out on the show. Don't forget to let me know what you'd like me to point listeners to in case you're hoping that you know, people hear the shout out and then people also look look you up online. OK, so now to the meat of what it is that we're going to be talking about today. Remember that we're talking about how to hire a female salesperson, a customer service Rep, a front desk person, APA or ATA.
The main thesis is that you can have all the sex appeal that you want. You can have all the feminine energy on fleek that you want. You can be born with feminine aura that is on point. And yes, all these things are very, very, very useful and very important for certain kinds of contexts. But then when it comes to situations where you're helping people to solve problems or you're helping people achieve a certain vision, then these things, they're not the main thing.
You should be paying attention to something else. So if you're one of those ladies, like ladies who approach me after this Avon, sorry, not after it was. Yeah, it was after because it was a three day training session devoted to teaching women about digital marketing. And then on the demo day, that is when I was approached by these individuals. So if you are nervous about these sorts of things, am I woman enough? Am I feminine enough?
Am I charming enough? Do I have feminine aura, you know, blah, blah, blah. If you're worried about all these sorts of things and how it's going to help improve your sales, your sales capabilities or your effectiveness as a customer service Rep, I'm one of those people who say that, look, you shouldn't worry yourself too much about these things. Now, there's some basic stuff that we have to do and that everybody needs to do.
That's the reason why, you know, I say kind of flippantly, but that's the reason why I say make sure you buff, you know, rub perfume, make sure your hair's on point. And but this thing applies like it's just basic human sanitation requirements that applies to everybody. So whether you're a guy or a girl, these are some basic things that you have to do. Are your shoes OK? Your trousers shade is no stain, there's no a goosey stain on your shirt or there's no coffee stain on your shirt.
The tie doesn't look all right. Bad breath. Do you have bad breath? So there's some basic sanitation stuff that we need to pay attention to. But outside of that, I really don't think we should be worrying ourselves too much about these sorts of things. So the case study that we're going to use today is I'm going to use that some people, the cohort, the people who are in the class at that training that I did with Avon on digital marketing.
So in the class we had somebody who was involved in real estate, somebody who was transitioning to sales into real estate. We had two people who are involved in selling, What do you call it, fashion, but what's it called? I think it's called ready to wear. They can do bespoke and they can do ready to wear. Then there were also two people in the class who worked for Government Media, two people who worked for Radio Nigeria.
One person was in the production department and then another person was in the social media and trying to make sure that they they could that Radio Nigeria can appeal to younger audiences. Because right now the assumption is that Nigerians who listen to Radio Nigeria are of a certain age. You know, to be honest, I didn't even know Radio Nigeria was still working. I had assumed that Radio Nigeria was dead until I came back to Abuja and I saw the building.
I was like, oh, OK, Radio Nigeria. So you guys are still functioning. So two people there were in government media, then there was one person who was in startup space and it's sort of like a business mastermind and a networking thing. So these are going to be the case studies that we're going to be using to see whether if you have feminine charm, feminine energy, primal sex appeal, whether it is going to help you to sell real estate better or whether it's going to help you in your fashion business.
Or whether it's going to help you as your employee in the government media, or whether it's going to help you in your startup. Is feminine charm and feminine energy and sex appeal, is it necessary for success in these fields? That's what we're going to look at today. Now, people who are in this space and you're talking to one or two people, people have specific problems that they're trying to solve. If on the real estate space,
you're trying to solve housing problems. People are looking for a place where can I rent affordably, where can I lease affordably? Where can I make investment decisions that is going to give me XYZ amount of returns on my money. So if you're in real estate, those are the main questions that I think you're asking because those of you who are real estate professionals, in case there's something there in the value proposition that I've that I've missed, please send me a message on WhatsApp, let me know, you know, So just educate me so that in future my examples will be more, what's the word more robust.
So if you're in the real estate space, those are the primary problems that you're solving. Where can I rent a house affordably? Where can I rent the right house? Where can I lease factory space or which investment property am I going to buy that is going to give me a certain amount of returns? Then for people who are in the fashion space, you're the problem is you're trying to solve, you're trying to meet people's style, style needs.
You're trying to help them achieve a certain vision of themselves or you're trying to dress people up for specific occasions. You know, like the lady who shows up and says, oh, my daughter is getting married December 25th. You know, I want to look like mother of the day. I want to be fly or I'll do your thing, you know, you know, gauge me up, you know, make me look nice. So those are the kind of scenarios that you're dealing with.
So scenario one, real estate, we're dealing with specific problems. Where can I rent affordably or where can I rent, you know, a house that suits my status or how can I invest in real estate and get XYZ returns? For the fashion people, style needs, they're trying to figure out what they feel about themselves, how to try to project themselves and you're trying to style them or so for them accordingly. Then for the people who are in government media, the problem is they're trying to reach a mass market, a mass audience.
And Radio Nigeria particularly is trying to appeal to a younger demographic, which kind of makes sense because if all the people who listen to Radio Nigeria are old, you know, God forbid, but you know what happens in life now, you know, old people eventually pass on. So you need to now get the younger people listening to Radio Nigeria so that they will be the customers of tomorrow. And then for the business networking startup, the Mastermind and all that, they are trying to reach executives in Abuja between the ages of 35
and 50. They're trying to reach people who are in mid level or senior managers. And of course, OK, well not of course, but the people that they're targeting for that community is men. So some of you might say, hey, since in this case they're trying to target men, perhaps it might be useful if you have feminine aura, if you have feminine energy, if you have primal sex appeal and if you are charming. So let's look at it from take care of these things now from one case by case by case, let's try and see if feminine sex appeal can help you solve these problems for your customers.
Now obviously for the real estate example that we just gave, whether you are charming or you're sexy or you have feminine aura or feminine energy, is not, and I repeat is not going to be useful in making sure that your client gets the best house that is suitable for them. It is definitely not important if you're trying to make sure that you match the right investment opportunity to the right client because investments in general in securities or whether investments in real estate is not just because somebody has money, you just match them up.
Some people are looking for a certain kind of security, some people are looking for a certain amount of time or turn off investment, and some people are looking for a certain kind of return. And if you don't do a good job matching people up, then they'll be quarrel. So remember what I said in yesterday's episode, so the episode of two days ago that if you do not do a good job in matching the opportunity with the client, you're going to create bias remorse or you're going to create bias regret.
Those are situations where fine, somebody has paid and you know you've done the done deal, you've done the transaction, but now the person will now come and be angry that how could I have made such a stupid decision? This is a bad purchase. The person will be angry at themselves or the person will not be angry at you. These people, they're criminals. It's only packaging, excuse me? It's packaging that they use to help me.
It's packaging that they use to trick me into buying these sorts of things. Now, in either scenario, that is not great because when people have badge and muscle badge regret, The thing is, they don't come back to purchase from us again. And remember what I said in yesterday's episode, The goal is not just to get somebody to rent house today from you. The goal is that you want the person when next they're looking for a new house to rent, they come back to you.
Or when they're looking for a new investment property, they will come back to you. Because there's no point in just collecting money once. And then next time you're looking for a new mugger to try and swipe with your family in charm and with your family in energy and with your sex appeal and with your family in aura, the goal is to keep them coming back. You know, everyone one year, every two, two year, you know that kind of thing.
That is where the main money is going to come from. So in this case, your feminine energy, your feminine aura, your primal sex appeal might get somebody to rent the house from you once. It does not mean that when they are ready to upgrade the house or move to a new place or buy a new house, does not mean that they will call you again. If you used feminine aura, feminine energy, primal sex appeal, bottom power, whatever it is that you called, if that is what you used to secure the deal the first time, there's no guarantee that person is going to come back again.
And very, very lastly on TV, if it is bought on power that you use to close the deal this time, I can assure you that if boss is calling you again, like one of the ladies I was talking to, the question she asked is like, look, how many BJ's can you give? Sorry for being this blunt on the podcast. I'm just trying to be realistic here. But one of the ladies that were having this conversation was that's what she said in exasperation.
She just said, look, come. So how many BJ's can you give? Let's be honest anyway, I'll leave you to work out all the rest on your on your own. Well, basically if is real estate is not a good strategy that works for long term growth and retaining the customer and maximizing lifetime customer value. You need a different set of skills. Now, when it comes to style, the fashion thing, you're trying to figure out people's style needs and you're trying to make sure that they're adequately styled for this location that they're going to go to.
The fact that you are the one who has the sex appeal or the style or the pizzazz or the whatever. How does it help that particular person achieve their goal? It does not if, and I hope so that, you know, I'll hurry up at that stage if people call me up. So next month we have social, social program, Illumilou is going to be on stage. Dangote is going to be on stage. We want you to do keynote and blah, blah, blah, or want you to handle the whatever.
They come and call me and then I'm happy. And I'm thinking to myself that OK, those of you who listen to the show, you know that I have the fashion sense of a Ghanaian school teacher. That's what my wife says. Please, those of you who are Ghanaians, don't be annoyed. And those of you who are school teachers, you know, don't be annoyed. I've been told I dressed like a getting a school teacher. I've been told I dressed like a Carpenter.
I'm not saying any school teachers are rubbish or that carpet has a rubbish. I'm just saying basically that I have no sense of style. So let's say now, and now is the time I'm going to be on stage Illumilu, I'm going to be on stage downloading that I need to package. I need to look fly. And then I call you up because you're the fashion person and you're not trying to use family or our family energy on me and you know, stuff like that getting me to seal the deal.
I mean my work. But The thing is, if I'm mismatched, you hook me up in something that doesn't adequately represent the brand that I'm trying to portray. Well, I don't end up looking good standing next to Uncle Tony. You know, everybody's looks one way, but me, I'm not really looking. You know, how are you going to get me as a repeat customer for the business? I mean, how? How are you going to get repeat business from me?
How are you going to get me to send my friends, my family members and associates? I mean how? In fact, if it's bought on power that you used to seal the deal, you know, perhaps I want to keep you all to myself. I will continue to enjoy ourselves and I don't share my phone number or anybody because I think what I'm getting is a good deal and I don't want to share the deal with anybody. If you can read it between the lines.
So in this situation, when it comes to the fashion thing, all these things, aura, family and energy, charm, all these things not going to help you. You might close the deal once, but if you do a bad job, you don't understand my needs. You don't package me well when I'm on stage. Your Uncle Tony and Uncle Dan Gotti and all the other people, then zero. You might have just collected, you know, a few 100 grand from me and yeah, you've closed that deal.
But then tomorrow you need to now look for a new mogul. You now look for a new person to trap. And it is a it's unnecessary stress for those of you who are trying to build businesses this way using visa other qualities then for Radio Nigeria, people are trying to reach mass, mass audience. People work in those kind of organizations. Your aura, your energy, your sex appeal, your whatever down is is, it's not going to help you if I don't even see how you want to use that to attract audiences, except if maybe you think you're a very fine girl,
you know, like the Kardashians or something. And so you want to be the one who isn't on all the social media, you know, use influencer strategy to attract a younger audience or something. So I don't know, for the sake of argument, let's just say maybe it might work there and move on. Then for the business networking thing, the business networking thing, they're trying to appeal to men. They're looking for men between the ages of 35 to 50 and they're looking for mid level or senior executives.
That's what they're trying to capture for that group. So some people will say, aha, this one, the target audience is men. So if the target audience is men, I guess feminine aura should work. Feminine energy, you should prime it. Primal sex appeal be on full display. Your charm, dial up your charm from three to 10. So maybe sex appeal might help, but if that is the main reason why people are joining your club, you say what you have is a business club, is a mastermind,
is a networking thing. But the main reason why these men are coming 35 to 50 is because the salespeople that talk to them are fine and have nice skin and have feminine energy and sex appeal is on points and they use bottom power. Then the question when asked is what kind of club are you going to be left with at the end of the day? Is that the kind of club or business networking thing that you decided to start with? I have heard of some of those institutions.
I don't have to call them. What left John on? This is on what he called gentlemen's club. I've heard of gentlemen's club like that. I've heard that they exist in Lagos and I hear that there are a couple of them in Abuja. If that's the business you're in today, sure, no problem. Just know what your food chest are. That's the business you're in. But if that's not the business that you want to, I mean you want a genuine thing where business executives can come and do masterminds and do networking, expand their their spheres of influence, those sorts of things.
Then throwing in feminine energy and sex appeal and all these things is just muddying of the waters. So I don't think that these things can help. Now, if primal sex appeal and feminine energy and bottom power and aura and all these things are not important, then what exactly is a sister supposed to do when she is trying to be an effective salesperson for the woman who is in this situation or for the person who wants to hire an exclusively female sales team?
The thing I should be looking out for? Like I said, if the candidates you're talking to have any of these things, it is nice. After all. Don't go and disqualify anybody because you say the baby is too fine. If the baby is fine on a scale of one to 100, the girl is in 98. Don't disqualify her because she's in 98, so long as she has all these other things. Because, you know, use what you have to get what you want. Sorry, it sounds kind of crass,
but how did I put it? If you've got it, you've got it, you know, So it's like me, people say I'm tall, I think I'm average. So if you're tall, you're tall, there's nothing you can do about it. You can't make yourself shorter. So if your height is there or if your good looks is there, then of course use it to your advantage when it comes to doing your house, when it comes to running your business, if you can make hike an advantage.
So, but The thing is, don't go and disqualify a guy because he's short and don't go and disqualify a lady because she's black. This is what we should be paying attention to for these kind of roles that we have spoken about so far, real estate, fashion, government, media, startup, mastermind, business, networking. What we need to be paying attention to and what is going to help people to be effective in those roles, whether male or female, is first of all, they need to be very good at listening and doing needs analysis.
So that is what you'll be paying attention to if you decide that you must have an exclusive female sales force as you're interviewing all these girls. So women, as you're interviewing the woman used to be paying attention to how good are they at handling conversation and doing he needs analysis because when you're selling real estate, you have to be doing needle analysis. Sorry, needs analysis. What kind of houses are they looking for?
What kind of things is Madam looking for in the house? How many children do they have? What stage of life are they at? Is this kind of house or is this kind of community or is this kind of estate going to be suitable for these people where they are now? What kind of financial expectations do they have? If it's an investment decision, what kind of portfolio does this person have and where and why would real estate be a good part of this person's investment portfolio?
These are the kind of conversations that the baby needs to be able to have when you're hiring her to sell your real estate. Looking at whether she's yellow or tall or short or family energy or charm and or not, like I say, is extra. You know my help, but I should not be the Coco. If the person has the ability to handle these kinds of conversations, but the person but the lady is short and she's black, please by all means give her the job because she's one that's going to be able to deliver.
It will not help you to have a fine babe, yellow felt, 6 feet tall, everything who cannot handle these kinds of conversations when she is in front of a qualified investor. Hope you guys are getting the just of what I'm trying to say. So you get somebody who is gorgeous 98% but she cannot handle these kinds of conversations where she's in front of a qualified investor. You are not helping your business. By the way, I admit her to the ladies who asked me this question.
I said yes, yes, it's true. Fine girls open doors. Definitely. It does not mean that fine girls can close deals. Please listen, I will not argue with you if you say that fine girls open doors. Definitely Fine girls. If I, if you stack me against the babe who is, you know like I said, 98% gorgeous and you say where I'll go see how many doors you can open. Yes, you open more doors than I can, but if she's not able to handle the kind of conversations that I can and do the kind of needs analysis that I can and handle myself, handle herself in conversation like I can.
At the end of the day, even though she opened more doors, I'm telling you, I will end up closing more deals. So let's not pay attention to too many of these things. So listening needs analysis. That's what we need to be doing first because when it comes to these sorts of rules, sales, customer service, front desk person trying to understand the customer, trying to understand the situation, trying to understand the problem, trying to understand what it is that they're trying to solve, That is the first thing we need to be paying attention to.
So somebody who has all those other qualities 100% but is 0 on listening, 0 on needs analysis, 0. On understanding the customer, that person is not going to be able to help you in your business. Then another scheme we need to be looking at is these people where it is that you're going to hire, whether you wanted to be exclusively men or exclusively women, they need to be able to make effective and relevant presentations or send effective proposals or however it is that you want to couch it.
The proposal is not going to be effective or relevant if they didn't do a good job of doing needs analysis and understanding the main customer in the first place. So that's also another thing if I, let's look at the business networking scenario before you say join this business mastermind, this networking, whatever, these are the benefits that you're going to get. And This is why it'll work best for Someone Like You. You need to have been able to understand the person in the 1st place where they are in their career, where they want to take their career to or where they want to take their business to.
And to be able to show that this club that you're putting together has the resources or the people that is going to move them along in their career, move them along in their businesses. You can't make this effective proposal if you are not very good at understanding the customer in the 1st place. So you can see how there are some more important things that we ought to be paying attention to. That's for those of you who are convinced that, OK, it must be a woman that would do this job.
I hope you can see now that, OK, no problem, you say it must be a woman. I won't hide you with you because I don't think it has to be a woman, but those, but those of you who say it must be babes because I'm currently talking to a client like that right now. And that's what the person thinks that for the business that he has that they must be babes. They must be babes of a certain caliber and they must also be master's educated.
I understand where the guy is coming from because if he's a babe who is master's educated in this kind of environment, like I said, fine girls open doors. It does not mean that fine girls can close deals. OK, Please, let's not get confused. So you say it must be babes. These are the things that we're paying attention to. Can they listen? Can they do a needs analysis? Can they hold their own in conversation? Can they understand the customer?
Do they know how to make effective proposals, effective presentations? Can they handle their own when it comes to pricing and negotiation? And then can they get people to take the next step? When we say take the next step, what we mean is a lot of people try to close the deal one time. We collect all the money straight but actually closing the deal is you do that by moving things forward one step at a time, getting micro commitments along the way.
The perfect example that I give is my wedding photography days and this is how it works. I used to go to bridal shows, bridal shows, bridal shows. All I say OK well you should understand what the bridal show is. So attend the bridal show, take the next step means the bride and the groom must drop their phone number if they come to the booth, but then they don't drop the phone number. How am I going to follow up? So me collecting the money at the end of the day begins with,
first of all, they came to my booth. I have to be able to collect their phone number. That's the next step. Now that I've collected their phone number or e-mail address or whatever, the next thing is I have to be able to agree for them to have a meeting. Either I will come to their house or they will come to my studio or I'll go and meet them in the office or we'll go to a neutral place maybe like City Plaza. SAT Plaza is honestly, it was like it was like a mall.
I have was a general place. So that'll be the next step. So you can see that the first micro commitment is let them drop phone number. Next micro commitment is let us have that first meeting. Let me try and figure them out what they're trying to work on. After that, next step might be get them to look at samples so that we decide which kind of album, which kind of frame, you know, like that. So you can see that it is one small step, another small step,
another small step until eventually we close the deal and then we'll collect the money. So it's the same thing as the real estate, real estate thing. Small, small steps. Somebody makes the introduction, you call. The first step might be to get a meeting. After you get the meeting and you do need analysis, maybe next step is go and look at houses or go and visit the site or you know, I'm not a real estate, so I'm just guessing at what the stages might be where you can see that everything has one stage after another stage after another stage.
So these people that you want to sell for you, you decided that it must be babes. Do these babe have the skill to be able to do things like that, getting people to take that next step. Now, if we take a step back now, you can see that these are the things that we ought to be paying attention to when it comes to hiring people for these sorts of roles. By the way, I say it again, they do not have to be exclusively female.
They do not have to be babes. Guys, girls, anybody can do it. But for those of you who insisted that it must be babes that will be your customer service person, your front desk person, your salesperson, These are the things you need to pay attention to. If the babe is fly and if the babe is charming, then of course that is good. Just make sure that she knows how to do all these other things we've spoken about. She can listen, she can do needs analysis, she can hold a conversation, she can understand the customer, she knows how to make effective and relevant presentations.
She knows how to give a proposal, she knows how to handle herself well in pricing and negotiation, and she knows how to get people to take the next step. So if you insist that it must be babes and you want to make sure that these people that have yellow skin and are fine, no problem. Just make sure that they can do all these other stuff as well and you will be OK. Although if you ask me in my own opinion doesn't have to be exclusively female.
But don't get it twisted. Yes, girls, babes, women that meet this whole thing of feminine aura, feminine energy, feminine charm, primal sex appeal, bottom power, whatever it is you want to call it. Women who meet these criteria. Yes, they will open more doors than I can. Yes, I agree with you. It does not mean that they will close more deals. So it is my prayer that I won't have to keep having these conversations over and over again.
But for some reason, it just keeps happening and happening and happening. I keep running into people who insist that it must be an all female sales force. I mean, there are times when it might make sense to have an exclusively female sales force. I don't know, Like if you run the crash, for instance, I guess it makes more sense to have an all female sales team talking to parents because for some reason, before I became a parent, I
didn't understand it. But for some reason, you know, when we hear crash and you go to crash and you see that it's all women, your mind is just calm, especially if it's all women and it looks like they're decent human beings, you know, I guess people just trust women, trust children around women. So I guess in those sorts of scenarios, if you want to insist, you want to insist it must be female, must be 100% female, They're OK, no problem.
I might not argue with you, but I sort of outside of situations like this, we're talking real estate, we're talking fashion, we're talking media, we're talking startup, doesn't have to be excessively exclusively female. So it's my prayer that we won't keep having these conversations over and over again because to be honest, sometimes it makes me uncomfortable and it makes me a little bit, it makes me concerned. The extent to which some of us are too relaxed or too comfortable when it comes to pimping our sisters, pimping our cousins, pimping our momsies,
pimping our. I don't know. We've just become a little too comfortable around these sorts of things. In fact, it's one of my relatives who work for a bank. I won't say which bank it was. And there was one meeting that they went for, she said was abuse meeting that they go for where the bank manager will abuse them. And the bank manager held up somebody and was saying that look, that this girl that she's going, she's bringing millions that what does she have that all of you do not have?
This is something that the branch manager said. She now said, what is she doing that you people cannot do? She said it open in the meeting. And I was short. I'm like branch manager said that. I mean, arguably speaking, she hasn't said anything unethical, but like, I don't know, we've become too comfortable around some of these things and you want to make money. But I think there's I think some of us have started crossing unethical lines on some of these things.
So I'm not saying disqualify somebody to be your sales Rep or to be your front desk person because she's fine. So don't disqualify the fine people. If you have some boys working for you is good. If you have fine girls working for you, it's all good. Just make sure that it's not based on these sorts of qualities, but it's based on skills, learnable skills that actually make people effective at their job. So being able to handle a conversation, listening, needs analysis, understanding the customer, effective proposals,
pricing, negotiation, getting people to take the next step. That's why you should be paying attention to. But yeah, make sure that everybody has bath, make sure everybody has used perfume. Make sure everybody's clothes are cleaned and well ironed. Brush your teeth, cut your hair. If it is wig you're wearing, make sure that wig is on point. Yeah, make sure basic sanitation is covered for if you cover for basic sanitation, you cover for these skills.
Yeah, you'll be fine. So let me bring it to a close because we're over at 40 minutes and this episode didn't have to be 40 minutes.
