Hello and welcome. My name is Tavishima Ayede, the host of the podcast that I'm making today's recording at home. So there will be some noise in the background. Today on the podcast, we're going to look at how to use Google Gemini or any other AI tool to come up with a good description for your business. That's for those of us who use WhatsApp business profile. Yes, I know that's kind of long, so let me repeat it. Today we're going to be looking at how to use Google Gemini or insert your favorite AI tool.
How do you use that to come up with a good description for your business on WhatsApp business profile? If these are the sorts of things that you like listening to, then connect with me. You can call SMS or send me a WhatsApp message on 08064662140. So this is the background why we're going to be looking at this question today because I had a caller on the radio show, not on the podcast, you know, on the radio show. And she wanted ideas on how to use WhatsApp to grow her business.
And I gave her some recommendations specifically on using catalog. Well, first of all, you know, download WhatsApp business. I've already made a podcast episode about that, so no need for me to repeat. If this is your first time listening to the podcast, then just scroll through. Look for any episodes that have WhatsApp Business in the title and then you get caught up up to speed. So what was I? So first thing, download WhatsApp Business.
No problem, she's done that. Next thing I told her, look, we have to spruce up our catalog because our catalog was weak, was like 2 items only and she's a caterer. So we had to come up with more items on the catalog. And then of course, in excuse me, all the podcast episodes, I've already spoken about how I recommended for her to beef up her catalog and let's see what else. Also to take advantage of the fact that WhatsApp has WhatsApp business has this easy share link that you can share to people.
So in the case of someone like her who's in the catering business, it makes a lot of sense that whenever someone reaches out to you because want to know prices or blah, blah, blah, you know, you just have these simple links that you can just forward to someone and then when they click through, they get back to seeing your, they get back to seeing specific items on your catalog. So those, those were like the first set of recommendations that I gave her.
So excuse me, just recovering from a cold. Now, there was one recommendation, however. I told her change your business description. I told her change your business subscription. And it's not just her, it's lots of people who are in no business in Niger. You know, they have one kind lazy attitude when it comes to these things. So I said change your business subscription because I would like this is what she had. What she had was indoor and outdoor catering services.
Full stop. This is someone who is in the business of doing small chops. You've downloaded the WhatsApp. You have, you know, taken the consultants recommendation, you have beefed up your catalog. But then when it comes to business description, the thing that is meant to entice somebody to look at the catalog, the thing that's supposed to make somebody curious to know more about you, The thing that's supposed to inspire people to want to learn more about you or to want to click on a link or to send you a direct message into your inbox.
Business description, nothing that's supposed to toast people. All she just put there is indoor and outdoor catering services. I'm serious. This is 123-412-3455 words they say describe your business. She only put 5 words there. So bad descriptions like this and I don't want Nigerian business owners do do these things. Your wedding photographer, they say describe your business. You just write wedding photography in Abuja, that's 12344A hand they say describe your business, you only use 4
words like how? See, bad descriptions like this are ineffective. Remember business subscription is meant to entice somebody. It's supposed to make people curious. It's supposed to make people want to learn about you. It's supposed to make people want to scroll, want to click, want to send you a direct message into your inbox. You know, come and put this bare description. It's ineffective. This is even the problem self.
Your competition is trying much more harder than you. Go and check it. You'll see that your competition. When they say business description, don't just pull 5 words. You don't believe me? Pause this podcast right now. Whatever line of business you're in, go and check the Instagram handles or the WhatsApp business handles of the 2-3 people that you consider to be a competition. Go and check. Maybe you see that. Of the five people that you check, you see that?
OK, four, just like you. But there'll be that one person who has done the work to produce a stellar business description. And that is one of the reasons why that person, that guy, that girl is doing better than you in business. Some people say his packaging or his connection or because she goes school or something. OK, yeah, maybe all of those things. But ultimately there are some small, small things like this that people are paying attention to.
So, yeah, I'm glad that she did the catalog thing, but I told her business description and, well, anyway, she didn't do that. But The thing is, I gave her recommendations on how you come up with business descriptions for your business. And this applies to anybody in any industry. So First off, what you do is when you're doing your business description number one, don't use idea. When I mean by don't use idea, I'm saying don't just sit and then say self.
What do I think is the main, the main thing about my business? And then right, it's not about you don't write what you think you need to figure out. See, OK, if you're first, if this is your first time in business, no problem. Just use the idea and write something. But if you've been in business for a while, one year, 2 years, three years, don't use the idea. Try and figure out what do people say is the main domain is the main thing about me what they say, Put it there.
That is what I call over here on the podcast. Your unique value proposition or your unique selling proposition. Why do people do business with you? You need to figure it out and then put it there. That is the thing that will actually draw people in and that's the thing that is actually like, it's like the source. It's like the main thing. A lot of times we don't even know the main reason why people do business with us.
So back to my wedding photography days. Now what I used to write was how my photos were candid, were natural. No Photoshop for me. That was Ausb. That's what I was putting. By the time I did this exercise, I realized that people are doing business with me not because of that, but because of my professional attitude. Always on time, never late. If there's problem, I'll let you know. You know all those kind of things. So was all the back end functions, but I wish that my whole career talking about stuff that people were not necessarily interested in or it was not the main reason why people were coming to me.
So if somebody referred me to another person, it wasn't or do business with Tavishima because his style is like this, because it's like that. It was do business with Tavishima because you know, he would deliver on time, no disappointment, all these sorts of things. Sorry, one moment. All right, sorry about that. Like I said, kids are home, so my youngest, my last born, I wanted something from me. So where was I now? So don't make the mistake that some of us make.
You just wish your whole career putting out information that you think is the main reason why people should pay attention to you. Meanwhile, in the market or on the streets, people are saying something else. Those things that people are saying about you on the streets, that is what should be your business description. That is your unique value proposition. That is your unique selling proposition. Find it and then include it in your business subscription.
Include it in your marketing messaging, include it in your branding, included in your everything because believe me, that is the main source. That's the main reason why people are chasing you. The thing is, you just don't know. So engage in this exercise, you need to talk to your customers to discover your unique value proposition or your unique selling proposition. Talk to them. They will tell you this is the main, the main domain about you.
Whatever they tell you, you will now upload that thing in business description so that people who want to enjoy those things, their customer says, it's the main thing about you. They will key in. It will speak directly to them because it's not something that you manufactured. It is something that people in the market, your customers are telling you as much as possible. If you can use the exact words if you can. So these are the categories of people that you're going to talk to.
First of all, talk to those people who have paid you the most amount of money. Look for those clients that have been paying you. Well that's them question. Please avoid those people who have been pricing you like Groundnut. At this stage we don't care what they think. To be frank, all those bad customers always late reprise you like Groundnut. The last time people who negotiated 150K they paid you 80 K. The remaining the balance of 70K
they haven't paid, they haven't paid you. So excuse me, they haven't paid you. It's been like 3 years, they still haven't paid you. Just ignore those people. Their opinion does not count for now. So all those people that have paid you, well, well that's them and call those people. Then you also want to talk to people that have been with you the longest. Let's say you started five years ago and over the last five years you've had like 5 or 6 customers who come rain or sunshine.
They always support you. Call those people the person I just bought once, one of where that person's opinion does not matter for now. Then also call those people who have given you the most pleasure while working with them. There's some people that you know whether they pay you much or whether they pay you small. Every time they call you is such a pleasure. It's such a delight. You love working with them. Call those people.
The reason why we're paying attention to this class of people is because you will use the exact words and their exact words resonate with other people. We're hoping that you resonate with other people who are like them, who will pay you well, who will stay with you long and he will give you pleasure while working together. Please displeasure thing very, very important because I've been with some clients who have paid well or by the time they are done with you, you're like, what is the value of this money I
collected on top all distress. And then there's some people that they pay you all I say, so excuse me, they pay you. It's not exactly poorly. Let's just let's let's just say they pay you average. They pay you average, but everything is so sweet. And then they will recommend you to one or two people you know. So some of you say, I don't care about the taste of the money so long as money is there. But trust me, after a while the taste of the money matters because some money is big, but it tastes very bitter.
It makes a difference to your quality of life. And then some money is average, but I think tastes very sweet. It makes a difference to the quality of your life. So how the money tastes in your mouth for me makes a difference. I know some people say, look me, I don't care. I just want it big, whether the money tastes sweet or the money tastes bitter. For those of you who are not Nigerians, I don't know how to explain this thing.
Anyway, let me just leave it. I'm sure you will. You'll understand what I'm saying. So these are the classes of people we're going to talk to. Ignore all those customers that you classify as idiots. Ignore all the idiots. Then ignore all the customers, all the clients who had unrealistic expectations of you. If people reach out to you, their expectations are unrealistic. I'll leave you to be the judge. Anybody who you think the expectations are unrealistic,
leave them out of this exercise. Remember, we're trying to get the opinions of people and the exact words of people that if we put it up in our business description, it should appeal to other people like them. Now, the questions that you're going to ask me, reach out to these people. First of all, you have to do a preface. Preface is that small something that you say before you get to the agenda, you know, like every book has, you know,
introduction, blah, blah, blah, You know, everything. You preface it with something. So first of all, you preface it. You tell them thank you very much for your support. I've always appreciated your business. You're one of my most valuable customers. If you don't mind, I have a few questions for you because I want to make sure that my business is focused on giving you more value for years to come. So that's the scope you use.
And if you notice the scope, the scope is not about you. The scope you're using now is about them. I repeat, don't use my exact words, but you know, just use the spirit of what I'm saying, but use couch it in your own words. You tell the person, you tell them. Thank you for your support. I appreciate that. You've always been there. You've been my guy. You've been my very big, you're one of my most valuable customers. I beg, if you don't mind, I have a few questions for you because I want to make sure that my business is focused on giving you value for years to come.
So that's the scope. Of course, the person who smiles and persons are we, thank God and the person will say, OK, what are the questions? So now you can see the reason why I say we should talk to certain categories of people because in your mind you know that the bastard customer who is still owing you money and who you know, you can't say that with a straight face. This thing I've told you say you can't say with a straight face.
As you're saying you will just choke on your saliva, so don't even bother. So that's why I say let's select this category of people, though you can say this honestly to their face. So the questions you ask them are questions like what are the things you like about doing business with me? Is there anything that make me that makes me different from the companies you've done business with? What else do you wish that we did or that we offered?
That one is important because you know it will give you business expansion ideas because you will notice that if you ask 5 people, what else do you wish we did? Let's say you ask 10 people, you'll notice that from net as they give you not start seeing some kind of themes, you'll be like, OK, I didn't even know that this was a business opportunity. Then you also ask them, what could we have done better in doing business with you?
Now it is important to us because we also give you ideas for how you change your business service delivery. Because don't be surprised. Some people say, well, you know, would have liked for this thing to be faster or this thing to be slower or this thing to be thicker or this thing to be slower, smaller. You know, you start innovating on the product or innovating on your service delivery. But basically you ask them these questions, you know, what do you like?
Basically the questions are aimed at what is the best thing about doing business with me? Whatever it is that they tell you, go and put it there. That is your business subscription. Now, lady carried out this exercise, which is why I'm surprised she didn't go ahead and change the business subscription. And this is what her customers told her. I told her, give me the exact words that they say. And then one thing, the rope was tasty and delicious to the last Chrome.
And then somebody has said fresh and tasty. And that person said, I love the spices in the food. OK, so now that is not how I put it. So maybe you say, what am I doing with that? But when I just relax, this is where ChatGPT comes in. So this is good. So I now told her use this and craft your business description because I assumed that she would try and combine all these things together so that instead of writing, what did you write before?
So one moment let me look indoor outdoor catering anyway, so I can't remember. I have to check my notes, but I've scrolled past that place. What was I? So instead of just writing indoor and outdoor catering, I assume she will try and combine them like, you know, I provide tasty and delicious if I should have used the word for word, indoor and outdoor catering, providing tasty and delicious food to the last crumb. Fresh and tasty with wonderful spices in my food.
OK, well, maybe that's not really elegant, but you see what I'm saying? I'm saying that by the time your customers use the exact words, you can take what you wrote before you can take what they said. There's a way that you can blend it together and voila, you know how business subscription, if it's too much work for you, you can sit down with a partner and a spouse or a stakeholder or an investor, and then you come up with business description.
But assuming that you do not have any of these things at your disposal, like, OK, I'm not creative enough and you know all these sorts of things. So excuse me then this is what you do if you're in this situation. Sorry about that. So you've gone, you've spoken to the customers, they've told you something. That is what you do. You now take Google Gemini. The reason why I recommend it is because it has, well, first of all, it's on your phone.
If you have an Android phone, The thing is already on your phone. No need to download it. That's provided. You bought your Android phone last year or this year? I'm making this podcast recording in 2025. So you bought your phone middle of 2024 or early 2025? The thing is already there. Lots of people don't know. I tell them it's already on your phone. You say Are you sure? I say just check. What phone do you have? This is not that.
OK. Does it have a folder that says Google? Yes. Go and click on Google. You're looking for a link that has is a star. So you're looking for an app that has a * but the star only has four points. So oh, it's on my phone. I said yeah, I told you it's already there. It's pre installed. So that's reason why I recommend Google Gemini then. Plus Google Gemini has access to the to the Internet. It's not all the apps that do like for ChatGPT, especially those of you using the free ones.
It only has access to the Internet up until a certain point. So you don't get up to date searches. So that's the reason why I start with Google Gemini. So take your phone, do Google Gemini or do ChatGPT or do Claude or do Copilot or do any AI tool of your choice. And please, I'm giving this warning because there's one guy I'm coaching right now. He keeps trying to tell me, oh cha, GPT is the best is the best is the best.
Look, stop worrying about what is the best. All of them work. Whichever you have access to is fine. If you're not happy with the results you're getting. The problem is you're either not prompting it correctly or. How I put it, most likely you're not prompting you correctly, but see AI tools come in different classes. These ones that I'm recommending now, Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude Copilot, those ones are LMS, large language models.
So what they do is you're requesting for information by typing a text is going to deliver you a result based in text. Then there's some AI that generate video, there's some AI that generate audio, and there's some AIS that generate photos. So first of all, pick the class that is necessary for you. So if you're using Google Gemini and you're trying to generate video or generate images, of course, what you get was not really the best because like I
told you, this one is a large language model. It is optimized for giving information back in text form. So yeah, if you're a video person, then you know, go ahead and look for AI that produces video. But once you enter into that particular class, stop thinking about good, better, best. First of all, start with 193, so 1 is not an excuse. And then learn how to prompt correctly. Then you will get the best results. So, but stop listening to people who say this is the best AI
tool. Maybe technically speaking there is a best AI tool, but right now that is not your problem. Your problem is you don't know how to prompt correctly. If you know how to prompt excellently well and you have an average tool, you'll be fine. If you have the best tool in the world but your prompting skills are useless, you will get useless results. So stop worrying about the best tool for now. If you have an Android phone, in my own opinion, just open Google Gemini.
Continue. If you don't like it after you build some experience, then well, at least now you can make an educated decision on why you want to move on to another tool. So there is no best tool, they all work. Learn how to prompt correctly and then when you get ideas from it, make sure that you execute it sharp, Sharp because there's no point in using this tool, getting 5 brilliant ideas every week. And then at the end of the month, you have 20 brilliant ideas and then you execute on 0.
What does it profit a man or profit a babe for you to have 20 wonderful ideas? You executed our zero. So prompt well execute. So this is an example of a basic prompt that I use now because me, I didn't want to think so I just prompted like this. And this is those my prompt. This is a very basic prompt and I wrote use the text below to come up with a description for a WhatsApp business profile that is centered around the sale of small shops and catering services in Abuja, Nigeria.
That is what was my prompt. I now copied and pasted what her friends told her which was tasty and delicious to the last crumb. Fresh and tasty. Love the spices in the food. Now these are the recommendations that Google Gemini gave me. Listen and you hear the difference. Remember what she wrote at first was indoor and outdoor catering services. That's all she wrote. And think about it now, would that entice you? You're doing birthday party for your your baby girl who's turning 3.
You want to do cake, small chops, everything. And then one person just writes indoor and outdoor catering services. Think about it. Would that entice you or you want to treat your girlfriend to something So you want to buy some finger foods? I know what not you now don't see indoor and outdoor catering services. Would I entice you? Now listen to what Gemini said. I'm not saying that is the best, but I'm just saying that this is what they gave me for a start.
Now somebody who is really, really creative, you can tweak it to something that you like or you can even re prompt again to make it better. So 1 moment, sorry about that, I just wanted to take time and properly clear my throat before I irritate some people. So this is what Google Gemini said. I said save all the best small chops and catering services in Abuja. We specialize in creating fresh, tasty and delicious small chops that will leave you wanting more.
Our signature dishes are prepared with a unique blend of spices that make every bite a delight. Can you hear that? Now compare that with indoor and outdoor catering services. Which one sounds, you know, more sweet to the ear? That was option one then option 2. This is what Google Gemini said. We offer both indoor and outdoor catering services to make your events memorable. Whether it's a small get together or large celebration,
Contact us today to place your order and treat your taste buds to an unforgettable experience. That's option 2. Now compare option 2 to indoor and outdoor catering services. Which one sounds better? Now some of you will say neither of them is perfect and I agree because for me, quite frankly, I think both of them are too long. This is where prompting now comes in handy. You can now write another prompt and say thank you.
Google Gemini, but I think these things are too long. Can you please rewrite them? Make them more readable and keep them short. Make them not longer than 400 characters. Send. You can see that by re prompting re prompting. Eventually you get something that you say. But The thing is, even if you just go through this basic exercise that I've told you, take exactly what your friends told you. Come up with one random prompt which is which is what I said.
Use the text below to come up with a description for a WhatsApp business profile centered around the sale of and then you insert your business insert location, then now copy pasted into Google Gemini send. I'm telling you, the two or three options that you get are better than what you came up with by yourself. So even if you don't know how to make it perfect, at least now pick any of these two and just put it there. Let it just be there as a placeholder.
It is better than what you had before. Then in the meantime, since you're not happy with either options, you can continue to be prompt to get new ideas, new tweaks, or then take what was given and then, you know, call your wife or your husband. You say hobby. I've been working on this thing and Otis only I'm tired. Hobby, please, I need your opinion. What do you think? This is what Google German I gave me. I'm not happy with it.
What do you think? We can change. Hobby will give you some ideas. You guys will come up with something sweet. If you don't married, call your brother, call your sister, call your business partner, call your investor, call your mentor, call mumsy, call popsy, call pastor, call somebody, call your neighbor who's been supporting you from this process of rubbing minds together, you come up with something. So that's just it.
That's long and short. Oh dear, 30 minutes. OK, it didn't have to be this long. Anyway, sorry about that. Sometimes I get carried away. So it didn't have to be this long. But summary, that is how you create a business description for your WhatsApp, my business handle. It is that simple, but don't do that Niger thing of using 5 words to describe your business. Indoor outdoor catering services, that is rubbish. Or wedding photography in Abuja and Avirals.
What kind of rubbish is that? Use something that will make people want to click, Want to scroll? Want to learn more? Now please let us develop a bias for action. You're working with a consultant. Consultant tells you something. Go and do what the consultant says and do it sharp. Sharp. In fact, this is what makes coaching very difficult. Some people ask me what kind of result are you going to get? And I have to tell them straight up that, look, the result you get is not dependent on me, it's dependent on you.
The best I can do is I will diagnose the situation and I will tell you this is what we need to do. And then I'll continue to pursue you to say, guy, do this thing by the end of the day, if you don't do it, like how am I responsible for that? So don't go and be asking me about, you know, the results, the guaranteed results that we can get. The results has nothing to do with me. It has everything to do with you. Best I can do is to do my work and give the recommendation and I'll be chasing you like small Peking.
But if you don't do it, you don't do it. So the results that you get is entirely upon you. So apart from that, one thing I've been saying, and I'm going to say it again, although some people say I should not be saying that, that I'm trying to take away from my business as a consultant. And actually in my own opinion, I'm not. With these AI tools, we now have assistance in our pocket. We have digital assistants in our pockets that make creating ideas easier.
Use these tools. They're on your phone and they cost nothing. If it's overwhelming, like I said, or if you don't trust the output, learn how to prompt or take the output and then check with your trusted business advisors. Discuss with your partner. Discuss with your boyfriend or your girlfriend. Discuss with your husband or your wife. Discuss with your parents, discuss with your brother, with your sister. For those of you who are much older, because I think 10% of you who listen to this podcast are 65%, sorry, 65 years and above.
And you know, for you guys, mommies and daddies, thank you very much for listening to the podcast. It's nice to know that young man like me is saying something that is educating mommies and daddies. So I really like the fact that you're here. So for those of you who are 65 and above, you know, if this entire you or if it's too much, take the suggestions, call your kids, sit down with them. Because of you who are 65 and above, you know you will have children that are my age.
Call your kids. Don't put you through mommies like this. Daddies like this, try it like this. They will help you to adapt the output to your personal style or to the local circumstance or to help you to just align it so that you achieve whatever it is that you're trying to achieve. But either way, coming up with business descriptions for your business, sometimes it can seem very daunting, which is the reason why somebody would just write wedding photographer in Abuja and environs as business description or indoor and outdoor catering, full stop,
Abuja, full stop. Yeah, it can be hard but follow this recipe and I think in fact follow this recipe, whatever output you get is definitely better than what you wrote before. So that's it and that is all. Remember, if you'd love to connect, you can call send me a text message or a WhatsApp message on 08064662140. Thanks for your time and attention. I'll catch you all at the next episode.
